The first picture is the initial draft of the island, drawn before I began to work on the comic itself, while the second sketch is accurate and up to date. It is what I use as reference in the comic to know where my characters are and how long or difficult it would be for them to reach another location.

A little bit of useless thoughts. Considering size and gravity of Dreven-a we can calculate that Dreven-a is two and a half times denser than Earth. What should mean that it has higher content of heavy metals and radioactive elements. And that would mean it has much hotter core and (probably) considerably stronger magnetic field than Earth. What would equal to more spectacular aurora borealis and more volcanic activity. Just in case you find that interesting.
ReplyDeleteAll of this is, of course, based on the assumption that fairy universe has the same gravitational constant as ours.
Sorry for my English, it is not my first language.
Sound good to me, the planet has a higher land to water ratio than earth And almost no ice on the poles. Also, most of the living species have saurian features, so it's almost like earth back in a younger geological era. But that's also true this is not our universe, and high plane/magic energy would play a role in all of this to a certain extent.
DeleteThanks for replay. Also "almost like earth back in a younger geological era"? Including higher oxygen concentration in atmosphere? It definitely would fit into what we have already seen. Also, if i may ask, are this asteroids reflective enough to be seen from Dreven-a?
DeleteYes they are, but like our moon, their visibility varies through the months and years and there can be special cases where they are shining yellow or red. And also yes for the oxygen. This, combined with a lower gravity, allow for larger creatures to exist, whether they are insects or animals. It also allow them to carry more weight, which is why we see a lot of creatures with heavy scales or carapaces, thought we haven't seen a lot in the comic itself yet. Mutations also account for some of that as the aftermath of the war but I can't say more, that would be spoilers.
